BUILT TO STAND THE TEST OF TIME
Using the latest in digital technology, we offer a range of bespoke veneer options tailored to your unique features. Whether it's porcelain or composite, each veneer is meticulously designed to enhance your natural beauty, giving you a radiant smile that’s uniquely yours.
Veneers, also known as dental laminates or teeth veneers, are micro-thin dental restorations fabricated from high-quality materials like porcelain or composite resin by our very own dental ceramist or Valley Dental dentist. Dental veneers work their magic by delicately covering the front surface of your teeth.
When it comes to achieving your smile goals and treatment needs, certain materials are better suited to different situations. It’s a bit like choosing the right tool for the right job. At Valley Dental, we will guide you through getting veneers, ensuring that the material chosen is the best for your particular situation and long-term outcomes.
Veneers share a resemblance with dental crowns, but they have their own unique appeal. Unlike crowns that encase the entire tooth, veneers simply cover the front surface.
Once bonded in place, veneers seamlessly mimic the appearance of your natural teeth blending in with your smile. Veneers can tackle multiple dental issues, including damaged teeth, intrinsic stains or discolouration, close gaps and improve smile lines and widths. The result? A flawless, natural-looking grin that leaves you feeling confident and ready to show off your new and improved smile.
what are veneers?
Now you know what they are, you’re probably wondering how do veneers work? The process of getting veneers spans across two-three appointments.
Appointment one diagnosis and treatment planning: During a veneer consultation, we will evaluate your teeth to determine whether veneers are a good option. We may take x-rays and impressions/ scans of your teeth to understand your oral health better. getting to know you and your values is also an important part of the planning process, so don’t be alarmed if some questions aren’t teeth-specific.
During this appointment, you will have the opportunity to ask us any questions you might have. If necessary, a follow-up appointment for digitally waxed-up try-ins may be scheduled to ensure the best possible outcome for you. It is during this appointment that we will determine how many veneers you need and if any changes are required for the optimal patient-centred outcome.
The process of getting veneers is very personal, and your dentist at Valley Dental will collaborate with you to ensure that your veneers are custom-fit and specifically designed for you.
Appointment two preparation: Once you are happy with the ‘try-in’ of your veneers, we can proceed to the next step. To apply the veneers, we will first prepare your teeth by removing a minimal amount of enamel from the front surface (where required, not all teeth need to be adjusted). This ensures the veneers fit snugly to your teeth and do not appear bulky or unnatural. After your teeth have been prepared, impressions and scans will be taken to create moulds that will be used to make your veneers.
In the meantime, you will be fitted with temporary dental veneers made to the same design that has been digitally made for you at your previous appointment.
Appointment three application and bonding: Once the veneers are ready, your Valley Dental team will try them in, make sure you’re happy and bond them to your teeth using a special adhesive. We will ensure that your veneers fit comfortably and look natural. We will also make any necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.
The Veneers process
types of veneers
Porcelain veneers
Porcelain veneers are custom-made teeth, skillfully designed and manufactured using high-quality ceramic material by our on-site master ceramist. Porcelain veneers are known for their durability, natural appearance, and resistance to staining. They are a popular choice for those seeking a long-lasting solution to improving the appearance of their teeth and are highly aesthetic. With porcelain veneers, your picture-perfect smile will seamlessly blend with your existing teeth.
composite Veneers
Composite veneers are made of a tooth-coloured composite resin material that is bonded to the teeth using a dental adhesive. Unlike porcelain veneers, composite veneers are crafted directly onto the teeth during a single dental appointment. Composite resin veneers are a more affordable and quicker alternative to porcelain veneers; however, require more regular maintenance as they tend to wear and stain over time.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
One of the most common questions we get is whether veneers will look “fake.” Our custom-made porcelain and ceramic veneers are designed to look and feel just like natural teeth, with an attention to detail that reflects the natural light and contours of your smile. We’ll work closely with you to achieve a look that enhances your facial features and complements your personal style.
-
Veneers are designed to stand the test of time, but their lifespan can depend on factors like the type of material used, how well you care for your veneers, and the habits of your smile. Porcelain and ceramic veneers can last 10-20 years or more when properly cared for, while composite veneers typically last around 3-5 years.
To keep your veneers looking their best, regular brushing and flossing are essential, as well as avoiding hard foods that could cause damage. If you're prone to teeth grinding (bruxism), a custom night guard can protect your veneers during sleep.
-
At Valley Dental, your satisfaction is at the core of everything we do. We take the time to understand your smile goals during our consultation. Before we finalise anything, we offer a trial smile phase, where we place a temporary set of veneers so you can preview your new smile. If you’d like to make any adjustments, this is the perfect time to ensure your final result is exactly what you envision.
-
We want you to feel confident and excited about your new smile. That’s why we include a trial smile phase as part of your treatment. After your veneers are designed, we’ll place a temporary set for you to wear, giving you the chance to preview your smile for a few weeks. This phase allows you to experience your new smile and provide feedback on the shape, colour and overall look. If you’d like any adjustments, this is the perfect opportunity to refine the design before the final porcelain or ceramic veneers are placed.
It's important to note that once your teeth are prepared for veneers, the natural surface is altered, and while we can make adjustments during the trial smile phase, returning to natural teeth without veneers is no longer an option. This ensures your final smile design is tailored precisely to your preferences and vision.
-
The cost of veneers can vary depending on factors such as the material used (porcelain or ceramic), the number of teeth being treated, and your current oral health. On average, the cost ranges from $400 to $1700 per tooth, but your final cost will depend on your unique treatment plan.
To make your smile transformation more accessible, we also offer flexible payment plans, allowing you to find a solution that fits both your smile goals and budget. We’re here to work with you to ensure your dream smile is within reach.
-
From consultation to final placement, the entire dental veneer process typically takes about 6-8 weeks. This includes designing your smile, creating a trial smile and final placement of your veneers. We pride ourselves on making the process as smooth and efficient as possible while always putting your comfort and satisfaction first.
-
No, dental veneers are made from composite resin or porcelain that do not respond to whitening agents.
This is why you should consider teeth whitening before veneers, as this will ensure your new veneers match your natural teeth colour.
If you have missing or chipped teeth, dental veneers could be the ideal solution to enhance your radiant smile. Dental veneers offer a personalised treatment allowing you and your dentist to work together to design the smile you’ve always desired.

What is the difference?
When it comes to achieving a flawless smile, veneers are the go-to choice. In the realm of dental veneers, composite resin and porcelain varieties boast unique characteristics, making them both distinct yet effective in their own ways. The fundamental purpose of dental veneers revolves around enhancing the tooth's shape and colour by applying tooth-coloured material on its front surface, and each type offers its own set of advantages.
Composite Veneers
Composite veneers are versatile in addressing various dental concerns, require less tooth preparation, are easily repairable and cost-effective.
Porcelain veneers
Porcelain veneers are durable, stain resistant, natural in appearance, long-lasting and can be individually crafted to match the shape, colour and size of your existing teeth.
